hinoto's true wish is 'to live forever as a dreamseer'
but kay, you stole that from the anime (yes, i did)
but kay, how can that be true if she's trying to destroy tokyo?
the 'forever' is a bit misleading - basically what she wants is to have been right all along, so she's willing to severely shorten her own lifespan if it means the world will end in the way she predicted
if the world fails to end, she'll no longer be living as a 'dreamseer'. that's why she's trying to destroy the world
but kay! she also dreamed that kamui would kill her! if that doesn't happen she won't be a 'dreamseer' by that definition either!
I KNOW. THIS IS BASICALLY THE SPANNER IN THE WORKS THAT MAKES HER TRUE WISH SO COMPLICATED FOR ME
but WHAT I THINK IS, that because it was also predicted that hinoto's dreamseeing would fail, she's basically hoping that if kamui doesn't kill her, that will count as 'the failure of her dreamseeing', and everything she predicted before (ie the end of the world) will still happen on schedule
well all right, i can hear you saying, but that still means her dreamseeing failed after a certain point.
( ok here's the part where this all devolved in to totally unfounded headcanon that i'll never use because the thought that i've got it all wrong is too embarrassing )
